Grand Sky is in the market to buy a couple of used fire trucks as it looks to beef up its fire suppression efforts. Right now the tech park has a mutual aid agreement fire protection with the Grand Forks Air Force Base and Grand Forks Fire Department. Grand Sky’s Tom Swoyer briefed the Grand Forks County Commission on the plan this week. Swoyer says adding a fire house on site would help meet contractual agreements with companies looking to expand.

The entire project is expected to cost around 2.2 million dollars. Grand Sky is looking to tap into a three-million dollar fund approved by the Legislature for infrastructure needs. The park is hoping to partner with the GFAFB B in the future on staffing needs.
