On behalf of Grand Forks County, Grand Forks Air Force Base and Grand Sky Development, it is with honor and respect that I announce the official signing of the Enhanced Use Lease between The United States Air Force and Grand Forks County, ND.
Along with the EUL, Grand Sky Development Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Infinity Development Partners executed its sublease with Grand Forks County giving us sole rights to develop the Grand Sky project.
This commemorative day marks the beginning of developing Grand Sky, the nation’s first “drone” airport and business park, a groundbreaking place for research and technology dedicated specifically to the Remotely Piloted Aircraft industry.
Grand Sky will be the home to UAS operators, data analysis and data management companies, UAS training and testing firms and developers of airframes, sensor payloads, engines and all things UAS. Grand Sky provides an ideal physical, financial and collaborative environment for testing, developing and operating unmanned vehicles.
In addition, the direct connections between the UND aerospace school and the Northland Community and Technical College’s degree in avionics, offers Grand Sky tenants an unprecedented opportunity to research, develop, test and deploy the future of unmanned technologies.
This day has taken considerable effort from a lot of people. The project would not have happened without our partners at Grand Forks County, the Grand Forks Base Realignment Impact Committee, the dedicated team at the Air Force Civil Engineering Center, Air Force General Counsel’s office and Grand Forks Air Force Base.
We are grateful to the many people that worked to make this concept a reality. We look forward to developing Grand Sky in the coming years and to working with these partners throughout the process.
