The Bismarck (N.D.) Tribune recently highlighted Grand Sky’s continued role in North Dakota’s efforts to lead the development of the UAS industry. Company President Tom Swoyer noted that buildings are going vertical at Grand Sky and runway activity is expected to increase by up to 30 percent in the next few months as the park’s first tenants begin flight operations.
Rick Matthews, vice president of operations at Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems, said its tenant space at Grand Sky is a concrete symbol of the company’s partnership to develop the UAS industry in North Dakota. He also noted the availability of UAS talent from nearby University of North Dakota as well as the Grand Forks Air Force Base as additional reasons why the company elected to build a facility at Grand Sky.
